To skip intro rambles, go to 13:23 This video makes reference to Doreen Virtue's recent post which lists the A to Z of evil. This list is clearly only a summary of opinions by many people, not just opinions by DV. However, in putting out this recent material, Doreen Virtue has produced rules of segregation. It is HATE SPEECH. So, that is why I thought it important to discuss.
Spiritual beliefs and practices are personal and do not require the approval or scrutiny of any other human being. People use tools, concepts or practices such as crystals, cards, sweat lodge, drumming, chakras, meditation, etc... To point the finger and condemn, shame or accuse others of wrong-doing is harassment. Preaching that there is only ONE way to spiritual development is limiting, reductive and shows a lack of respect for the freedom to choose. To produce materials that promote shame for spiritual practices that have been well-established as helpful others is simply bullying. Promoting ones own beliefs is one thing but when written material describes practices of other people as "evil" or otherwise shames such practices, it is abusive hate literature and it marginalizes people. This sort of HATE SPEECH is simply not acceptable is civilized society.
