The three-day Dubai International Kite Festival took place in spectacular fashion on Thursday on the beach at Jumeirah 3, behind Sunset Mall from 29th to 31st January, 2015 as a part of the month long 20th Dubai Shopping Festival featuring world’s finest kite flying teams from 25 countries across the globe.
Dozens of colourful kites of all shapes and sizes floated on the sea breeze and people of all ages took photos and tried their own hands at flying some of the designs.
81 participants from 25 countries took part in the festival. We even saw a 150kg kite in the shape of the UAE flag made by a team from Kuwait!
This year’s kite Fest was definitely an action-packed aerial extravaganza with international kite flying teams performing synchronized Kite flying, sports Kite flying, Kite surfing, Kite buggying, Kite boarding, fly boarding , wake boarding and night Kite flying with illumination.
